Education
Prof. Cai is a native of Shanghai. He earned his MD in the Second Medical University of Shanghai (which was formerly St. John's
University in Shanghai) in 1963 and trained in both Western and Chinese medicine
He was selected and as one of the top ten scholars by the Chinese Ministry of Public Health to do advanced studies in the First Hospital affiliated with Beijing Medical University. He also studied Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.
After graduation he continued his training in Chinese medicine by studying with Liu Fengwu, a nationally renowned traditional herbalist, in the TCM hospital affiliated with the China Academy of TCM.
Later he studied with another outstanding herbalist, Chui Shaojing in the First Hospital affiliated with Beijing Medical School
Experiences
Prof. Cai is an astute physician in China who practiced in both Western and Chinese medicines in China.
He has been engaged in clinic, teaching, and research for 35 years.
He is now doing research on hypertension with acupuncture in Sheep & Bay Hospital.
He practiced his experience in the Doctor Hoffman Medical Center and LI Medical Center.
He was Associated Professor of Nanjing Pharmaceutical University .
He was rewarded by World Health Organization (WHO) Scholarship funded as two-year fellowship . at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden and Chelsea Hospital for Women, in London.
He also cooperated with medical experts from WHO in Japan, Greece, Netherlands and other countries on various research projects and international exchange programs.
Prof. Cai headed various research projects and his acupuncture anesthesia project demonstrated for WHO officials on behalf of Najing municipal.
Because of his rich experience, wide knowledge and strong research abilities he was invited to be the Expert-Consultant of the Chinese Ministry of Public Health, and was nominated as an Outstanding Scientist by the Municipal Government of Nanjing.
