| Pharmacology Actions: |
Rhizome flat terete, usually curved, 2-6cm long,
0.8-2cm in diameter.Externally purple brown or
black brown, slightly pointed on both tops,
prominent, striations on whole rhizome, root
and rootlet scar present. Texture hard, section
deltoid reniform, red-brown or gray brown, vas-
cular bundle spots 25-40,arranged circularly.
Odour slight, taste slightly bitter, astringent.

| Actions and Indications: |
It is used as stagnant blood dispelling, menses
regulating, hemostatic, digestion promoting.
For the treatment of traumatic injuries, meno-
stasis caused by hemostatic, stomachache due to
indigestion;external use for bleeding caused by
injuries.
