| Constituents: |
The drug contains leicine, tyro-
sine, urea, ergosterol, lipoid, phosphate, sul-
phate and germmatein.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
It showed marked
hemostatic effect on hemorrhagic disease in
oral cavity and in nasal hemorrhage. The
mechanism is not clear. In vitro studies, the
decoction exhibited certain inhibitory action
against Staphylococcus aureus, Psedomonas
aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, Diplococcus
pneumoniae and also against several pathogenic
fungi. The decoction contained much pigment and
its antibacterial action reduced much after
decoloration by activated charcoal.

The drug is used as
antiphlogistic and hemostatic;for the treatment
of pharyngitis, cough and hoarseness of voice,
epistaxis and traumatic bleeding by external use.
