The drug contains volatile oils,
terpenes, tannin, quercetin, gallic acid and
pigments.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The flower bud are picked up when
the flower just in blossom, dried in the shade
in time or baked at a low temperature.
Drug Description Subspherical, 1.5-2.5 cm in
diameter. Receptacle obconical or obovate;
sepals 5, dark green, apex acuminate; petals
imbricated, 2-2.5 cm long,1-2.5 cm wide, purple
red or pale red,veins obvious.Stamens numerous,
yellow. Texture light, brittle. Odour fragrant;
taste slightly bitter and astringent. Fig.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
blood-activator, emmemagogue, antioncotic; for
the treatment of menstrual disorder, dysmenorr-
hea, external use for traumatic injuries with
ecchymoma and swelling, carbuncles, scrofula
(without diabrosis).
