The drug contains morphine, codeine, thebaine, narcotine, narcotoline,
papaverine, and saccharides, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
Morphine had signifi-
cant analgesic action with high selection, so
the patients conscience was not affected when
it used as analgesic.Its effect on chronic pain
was stronger than that on interrupted pain.
Morphine also had hypnotic effect,but the sleep
was very light. Morphine showed high selective
inhibition on central respiration. It already
showed respiratory inhibition when it is under
analgesic dose. Morphine also had strong anti-
tussive effect on central system.odeine was the
most common antitussive drug for its satis-
factory action and devoid of side effect.
Morphine showed relaxant action on peripheral
blood vessels and action of releasing histamine.
When it is used in combination with thiazine
drugs produced synergistic action on respiration
inhibition but might cause hypotension.Papa-
verine exhibited relaxant effect on various
smooth muscles, esp. on arterial smooth muscles.
The relaxant action will be stronger when spasm
exits. Morphine caused constipation and marked
myosis. Repeated application of morphine
resulted in quick tolerance on central
inhibition and very easily made addicted to.

analgesic, for the treatment of chronic cough,
protracted diarrhea, prolapse of the anus.
