| Constituents: |
Seed contains volatile oils, flavone,saponin
and fatty acid. Volatile oils are comprised
of 1'-acetoxychavicol acetate, 1'-acetoxyeu-
genol acetate, caryophyllene oxide, caryophy-
llenol¢ñ,¢ò,pentadecane, 7-heptadecene, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1.1'-acetoxychavicol acetate and 1'-aceto-
xyeugenol acetate showed anti-ulcer effect.
2.The volatile oil of the drug had irritant
effect on skin and mucous membrane, oral ad-
ministration showed expelling wind effect,
and had slight antibacterial and anti-proto-
zoan effects.
3.The volatile oil for abdominal injection
on rats and guinea pig showed central inhibi-
tory action.
4.The petroleum ester extract of the drug for
intragastric administration on rabbits,showed
good expectorate effect: The petroleum ester
extract of the drug (by spraying) could lethal
flying.
