The fruit contains contains volatile oil,consi-
sting of trans-anethole,fenchone,¦Á-,¦Â-pinene,
limonene, ¦Â-myrcene, ¦Á-phellandrene, p-cymol,
estragole, methyl chavicol. It also contains
fat and oil.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The drug constituents volatile oil could promote
gastro-intestinal peristalic and secretion, to
discharge the gas and expel expectorant and
could enhance dihydrotreptomycin effect for the
treatment of experimental tuberculosis.
|
| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used to dispel cold, relieve pain,
regulate the stomach function,for the treatment
of scrotal hernia with pain and cold extremities,
dysmenorrhea with lower abdominal pain and
cold sensation, distending pain in the epigas-
trium with anorexia, vomiting and diarrhea,
hydrocele of tunica vaginalis.
