| Constituents: |
Fruit contains toosendanin, margsine, tannin.
Bark contains toosendanin, margosin, kaemp-
ferol, resin,tannin, etc.. Root bark contains
more toosendanin than stem bark.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. Toosedanin showed anthelmintic effect.
2. Toosendanin could excite the intestinal
muscle in situ or in vitro and strengthen the
tension and contraction.
3.Toosendanin was irritative to stomach, and it is not advisable
for treatment of duodenal ulcer.
4.Tooseudaninshowed depressive action on respiratory center.
5. Toosendanin had inhibitory effect on carrier
of neuromuscular blocking junction.
6.It also had inhibitory action against S. aureus and experi-
mental fungi.
7.Toxicity:Gastric administration
of toosendanin in rats by 20-90mg/kg could make
gastric membrance edema,inflammation,absess and
ulcer.

Szechwan Chinaberry Fruit is used to remove heat-
dampness, relieve pain, for the treatment of
stomachache,abdomen pain due to hookworm infec-
tations, hernia, menorrhalgia; Szechwan China-
berry Bark is used as parasiticide, for the
treatment of hookworm infestations.
