hesperidin, nobiletin, and volatile oil, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The fruit peel contains
large amount of vitamin A and can be used as
weak gastric tonic and fragrant seasoning. The
decoction inhibited gastric, intestinal and
uterus activity. It had excitatory action on
isolated frog heart and showed hypertensive
action on anesthetized dogs and rabbits. The
fruit peel contained orange oil and had thera-
peutic effect on chronic bronchitis with no
irritating action on kidney. It also showed
contraceptive effect.

| Actions and Indications: |
Orange Fruit is used as
carminative, stomachic and tonic; for the
treatment of distension and pain in the chest
and hypochondriac regions, indigestion, reten-
tion of phlegm and fluid; gastroptosis.
Immature Orange Fruit is used as carminative,
stomachic and tonic; for the treatment of indi-
gestion, distending pain, tenesmus,retention of
faces, retention of phlegm, gastroptosis.
