| Constituents: |
The seeds ovate or oblong elliptic, flat, 1-1.4
cm long, 0.5-0.8 cm wide, about 0.2 cm thick.
Testa yellow white, relatively rough, obtuse on
one end, acuminate and showing 2 small point
on other end. Margin smooth or with one ring.
Testa hard and brittle, light, oily. Odourless,
taste slightly sweet.

In vitro the aqueous
extract (1:3) exhibited inhibitory effect against
skin fungi such as Schlemm`s Dermatophyton
tavosa, Microsporum audouini.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used to clear away heat, resolve
sputum, remove swelling, induce diuresis, for
the treatment of cough, ulcers in the lung, vo-
mitting blood, stranturia, leukorrhagia.
