oxide, phenol, ¦Á-terpineol. The fruit contains
volatile oil, vitexicarpin, ¦Ã-aminobutyric acid
and vitricine.

Vitexicarpin showed significant inhibitory action
against Staphylococcus auresu.

The drug is used to expel wind and heat, ease the
eye and the head, for the treatment of wind-heat
type cold, headache, dizziness, conjunctival
congestion, myoneuralgia, gingiritis, arthralgia
and spasm.
