The drug contains crataegolic acid,maslinic acid, carotene, vitamin B1, B2, C,flavonoids, saccharide, glycosides, tannins,proteins, fats, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The fluid extract,
flavones, hydrolysis product, and triterpenic
acid from the fruit had cardiotonic effect and
produced slow but prolonged hypotensive action
in anesthetized animals and definite inhibitory
action on arrhythmia of experimental animals.
The extract lowered serum cholesterol and tri-
glyceride levels in rabbits, showing its anti-
hyper lipidemia effect. The fruit decoction or
the 95% alcohol extract of either the crude or
charred fruit showed definite antibacterial
actions, so did the stem or leaf decoction.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
digestant, stomachic; for the treatment of
stagnation of undigested meat with epigastric
distention, diarrhea and abdominal pain, blood
stasis with amenorrhea after childbirth, hyper-
lipemia.
