| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. The tincture of the herb could kill dog's
tapeworm in vitro, the decoction could kill
rat's oxyurid in vitro.Its seed can expel tape-
worm and ascaricides.
2. The carpesia-lactone showed inhibitory action
on central nervous system.
3. The herb liquid had certain disinfectant and
antibacteral effects.
4. its 50% extract of whole herb showed inhi-
bitory action against Staphylococcus aureus,
Shigella flexneri, Salmone typhi, Escherichia
coli.

| Actions and Indications: |
Common Carpesium Herb is used to clear away toxic
heat, relieve sputum, arrest bleeding, for the
treatment of swelling and pain in the pharynx
and larynx, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia,
gasotitis; for external use for the traumatic
bleeding, carbuncles. Common Carpesium Fruit is
used to kill worm, for the treatment of as-
cariasis,
enterobiasis, cestodiasis, ect..
Dosage
Common Carpesium Herb: 9-15 g.
Common Carpesium Fruit: 3-9 g.
