| Pharmacology Actions: |
1.The decoction of bark inhibits on Pseudomonas
aeruginosa,Staphylococcus areus, Flexner's baci-
llus, typhoid bacillus, diplococcus of Neisser,
Diplococcus pheumoniae, streptococcus A.
2.Its preparation is used as anti-tussive,ex-
pectorant and antiasthmatic.
3.Aesculin inhibits carrageenin,dextran,5-hy-
droxytryptophane, histamine orformaldehydear thritis.

It is used in clearing away heat, detoxicating, giving out mess and promoting the subsidence of swelling. It is widely used for treating dysentery, diarrhea, malaria, hepatitis, acute nephritis, stomachache, hiccup, sore throat, injuries from falls and snake bite as well.
