acacetin-7-rhamnoglucoside, rutin,protocatechuic acid,caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid,also contains alkaloids and saponins.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. Hemostatic effect: the aqueous and ether
extract of the drug could shorten the clotting
time of the mice.
2. Anti-swelling action: the decoction of the
drug showed certain anti-swelling action on for-
maldehyde-induced arthritical swelling in rats.
3. Antibacterial effect: The decoction of the
drug showed certain inhibitory action against
hemolytic Streptococcus, Diplococcus Pnemoniae
and Corynebacterium diphtheriae.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used to remove heat from blood,
arrest bleeding, remove bloodstasis,subdue swe-
lling, for the treatment of hemotemesis, epis-
taxis, hemoturia, metrorrhea, acute hepatitis,
sores and carbuncles.
