| Constituents: |
The drug contains protocatechuic acid, homoplan-
taginin, hispidulin, eupafolin, nepitrin, and
phenol, volatile oil, saponin, cardiac glyco-
sides.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. Its decoction could prolong the mice tussive
incubation period induced by SO2.
2. It could prolong the guinea pig turnover
time induced by histamine.
3. The ethanol extract showed inhibitory action
against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis,
in vitro, its decoction could kill leptospiral,
and showed good inhibitory action against Staphy-
lococcus ablus, Diplococcus pneumoniae, Strepto-
coccus A, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus dy-
senteriae, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aerugi-
nosae.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used to clear away heat,remove toxi-
city, induce diuresis, subdue swelling, cool the
blood, arrest blood, kill worm, for the treat-
ment of tonsillitis, hemoptysis due to tuber-
culosis, acute mastitis,erosion of cervix, bron-
chitis, ascitis, edema, nephritis, metrorrhagia,
hemotochezia, etc..
