The drug contains flavonoids, such
as scutellamidin, scttularin, carthamidin,
isocarthamidin, and it also contains alkaloids,
phenols, falvonoid glycoside, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
In vitro screening
methods proved that it had very weak inhibitory
action on leukocytes of acute granulocytic
leukemia; while the test by cellular respira-
tion-apparatus screening method showed the
inhibition rate was over 75%. The decoction had
antibacterial effect against common pathogenic
bacteria. Carthamidin had rather strong action
against histamine-induced smooth muscle con-
traction and had good expectorant effect.

for the treatment of cancer, appendicitis,
hepatitis, ascites in cirrhosis, hematermesis,
