| Constituents: |
The herb contains verbenalin, 5-hydroxyverbena-
lin,verbenalol, caffeic acid. The leaf contains
adenosine,¦Â-carotene.The root and stem contain
stachyose.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1.Antiinflammatory and analgesic effect: the
aqueous and ethanol extract of the drug exerted
antiinflammatory and analgesic effect.
2.Antibacterial effect:the decoction and tinc-
ture,in vitro antibacterial tests,showed strong
antibacterial effect against Corynebacterium
diphtheriae, certain inhibitory action against
Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic Streptococcus,
Baillus sublilis, Escherichia coli,Bacillus dy-
senteriae.
3.Treatment for malaira: it could kill plasmodia.
4.The drug showed certain excitatory effect on
womb of rats and women.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used to activate blood, dispel blood
stasis, stop malaria, induce diuresis, subdue
swelling, for the treatment of amenorrhea, dys-
menorrhea, malaria, pharyngitis, carbuncle, ede-
ma, stranguria.
