The drug contains cernuine, lycocernuine, deoxy-
cernuine; serratriol, 21-episerratriol; ¦Â-sito-
sterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, cernoside,
lycernuic acid A, B, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1.Antibacterial test: The drug is sensitive on
Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Shigella. It
is used for the treatment of diarrhea and dysen-
tery.
2.Antipyretic action: the fluid extract and
ethanol extract of the drug showed significant
lower the temperature in rabbit with experimental
fever.
3.Effect on blood pressure and heart: The total
alkaloid of the drug showed elevate cat's blood
pressure, but it was inactive on respiration
4.Alkaloid of the drug injection in lymph, could
cause muscle motion irrcoordinate, paralysis.
5.It is used for the treatment of herpes zoster
