Whole herb contains sarmentosin,dl-methylisopelle-
tierine,dihydroisopelletierine,N-methyl-2-¦Â-hydr-
oxypropyl-piperidine, 3-formy, 1-4-dihydroxy-dihy
dropyran, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-¦Á-ala-
nine, L-leucine,L-tyrosine,L-valine,etc.. It also
contains flavonoids, terpenes, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The ethanol extract of the drug could reduce serum
glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT) of carbon te-
trachloride-induced intoxication in rats.Sarmento-
sin is good effective in prolonged chronic hepati-
tis in clinical try out,during use medicine,didn't
appear significant toxic and side-effect.
