Japanese Hop Herb

| Constituents: |
Whole herb contains luteolin-7-glucoside, volatile
oils, choline, asparamide, tannin, and resin.
Infructescense contains humulone, lupulone.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
Antibacterial test: 50% ethanol extract of the
drug showed inhibitory action against Shigella
flexneri, its fruits showed marked inhibitory
action against Mycobactacterium tuberculosis,
and also inhibited Staphylococcus aureus.

| Actions and Indications: |
It is used to remove toxic heat, cause diuresis
and dispel swelling; for the treatment of tuber-
culous pulmonary, gastroenteritis, dysentery,
common cold with fever, oliguria nephritis, cys-
titis, tuberculous genitourinary tract; external
use for sores and carbuncles, eczema, snake bites.
