| Constituents: |
The leaf contains indirubin,indigo,N-phenyl-2-
naphthylamine,¦Â-sitosterol,lacerol.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
T1. Antipyretic action: The decoction of the
leaves could cause the body temperature low to
normal level for fever rabbits.
2. Effect to smooth muscles: The decoction, ex-
tract and injection preperation of the leaves,
showed directly inhibitory action on blood ves-
sel smooth musculus of lower limb, intestinal
smooth musculus of isolated rabbits. It showed
excitatory effect on utero-smooth musculus of
isolated guineapig.
3. Effect on cardiovascular system:The decoc-
tion of the leaves showed inhibitory action on
the isolated toad heart,could dilate blood
vessel inferioris in mice,reduced vascapillare
permeability.
4. Anti-inflammatory effect: It showed anti-
inflammatory effect on formaldehyde-induced
acute aseptic arthristis in rats.

It is used as febrifuge, detoxicant; for the
treatment of high fever,skin eruptions in epi-
demic diseases, jaundice, acute dysentery,
mumps,inflammation of the throat, erysipelas,
carbuncle.
