| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. The alcohol extract of heartwood inhibits
central nervous system in mice and exerts se-
dative, analgesic and anticonvulsive effects.
2. The extract can shorten the plasma recal-
cification time in rabbits, and exerts inhi-
bited agglutination, directly proportioning
with inhibition of PG biosynthesis.
3. Eight of Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae's
components, which are obtuslyrene, isomucro-
nustyrene, hydroxyobtustyrene, (¡À)-mucronu-
latol, (¡À)-vestitol, (¡À)-isoduartin, odori-
flavene and methyl 2-hydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy
benxoate inhibit biosynthesis of PG. It also
contains active components to inhibit stasis
of blood.
4. Anti-inflammatory:It inhibits formaldehyde-
induced arthritis in rats.
5. The deoiling water layer of distillate of
Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae is combined with
the water soluble extract of Radix Salviae
Miltiorrhizae to make into Compositae Salviae
Miltiorrhizae injection for angina pectoris
and cardiac infarction.

It is used as blood-activator, analgesic and
hemostatic,for the treatment of abdominal pain,
costalgia due to stagnation of the liver-Qi,
pain due to obstruction of Qi in the chest,
traumatic injury, traumatic bleeding.
