| Constituents: |
The drug contains triterpenoid
saponins,such as clematoside A, A', B and C, as
well as anemonine, and also contains alkaloids,
sitosterol, myristic acid, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The infusion or
decoction showed hypotensive action on
anesthetized dogs and kidney volume decreased.
The action of the decoction only reached to
half that of infusion. The infusion exhibited
initial inhibition followed by excitation on
isolated toad heart.The decoction showed marked
excitatory action on isolated intestines, which
is maybe due to its direct action on smooth
muscles. Its preparation also exhibited
significant diuretic effect on mice, rats and
guinea pigs.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
antirheumatic, analgesic; for the treatment of
rheumatic arthralgia with numbness of the
limbs, traumatic injuries.
