The drug contains tannins, such as
gallic acid, ellagic acid, D-catechol, L-epica-
techol, 6-galloyl glucoside, and ¦Â-sitosterol,
glucose.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The animal experiments
showed that "Zhixue Jing No.1" made from the
exudated solution and gelatin proved definite
hemostatic effect.In vitro studies it exhibited
inhibitory action against Staphylococcus
aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subti-
lis, Escherichia coli. The LD50 of the 100% ex-
tract in mice was 0.33g/mice IP.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
antibiotic, anti-swelling agent,hemostatic; for
the treatment of dysentery with bloody stools,
diarrhea in acute gastroenteritis, acute res-
piratory infection with cough, carbuncles,scro-
fula, ulcers in the mouth and on the tongue,
venomous snake bite.
