The drug contains gentianine, gentianidine.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. Gentianine could reduce formaldehyde-induced
or egg white-induced arthritis swelling in rats.
In clinical it is used for treatment of rheumatic
arthritis and other arthritis.
2. Small dose gentianine showed sedative effect
in mice and rats. Large dose showed excitatory
effect.Its aqueous and ethanol extract exhibited
lower blood pressure in animals,and also showed
certain anti-anaphylactic shock and anti-hista-
mine effect; exerted certain analgesic effect
in rats.

| Actions and Indications: |
It is used to remove rheumatic condition, dispel
weak heat, smooth tendons and relieve pain. For
the treatment of rheumatic arthralgia, infantile
indigestion, jaundice, oliguria.
