| Constituents: |
The root contains trilobine, isotrilobine, iso-
trilobine-N-2-oxide, homotrilobine, trilobamine,
nor-menisarine, magno-florine, epistephanine,
coclobine. The leaf contains cocculolidine.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1.Trilobine showed antipyretic effect in
temperature-stimulus fever rabbits.
2.Small dose trilobine excited intestinum
angustam, uterus; large dose cause intestinum
angustum, uterus paralysis.
3.Trilobine showed transient hypotensive
effect in rabbits; cause frog myosis; cause
respiration paralysis
4.Trilobine and isotrilobine could inhibit
experimental animals arthristis induced by
cotton-ball together with other medicines.
5.Internal administration of trilobine hydro-
chloride showed inhibitory action against
ADP-induced platelet-aggregation in mice, it
showed significant inhibitory effect blood
platelet TXA2 generation and activity.
6.Trilobine could inhibit autonomous activity
in mice, enhanced pentobarbital sodium and
chloral hydrate inhibit effect on central;
could antagonism coffeine and benzedrine-
induced excitation, and could postpone cardia-
zol and strychnine-induced convulsion con-
cealed period and death time after convul-
sion.
8.Tribobine exerts analgesic effect.
9.Trilobine showed significant inhibitory
effects against egg white-induced, formaldehy-
induced. and arrageenin-induced paw swelling
in rats, inhibited abdominal vas capillare
permeability increase in mice and inhibited
auricle swelling.

It is used to remove rheumatic pain, cause diu-
resis,dispel toxic, ease hypertension. For
the treatment of rheumatic arthralgia, neuralgia,
acute nephritis,urinary tract infection, hyper-
tension,rheumatic heart disease, edema;external
use for snake bites.
