The drug contains volatile oils,
such as butyledene phthalide, butyphthalide,
methyleugenol, also contains ferulic acid.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The animal tests proved
that the aqueous extract showed hypotensive and
analgesic effects. The 15% decoction exhibited
inhibitory actions against skin fungi. The
volatile oil had sedative and analgesic actions
on central nerves. Butylidene phthalide and
butylphthalide showed anti-choline action,anti-
spastic action and inhibitory action on the
contraction of uterus and the latter also
showed anti-asthmatic action.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
antirheumatic, analgesic, effective agent
against cold; for the treatment of pain at the
top of the head in colds, rheumatic arthralgia,
pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea; external use
for ringworm infection.
