The drug contains kaempferol,
quercetin, rhmanocitin, formononentin, calyco-
sin, astragaloside, I , II, and III, sayasa-
ponin, astragalan, I, II, and III.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The 32% decoction
given to mice orally at a dose of 0.5ml daily
or on alternate days for 1-2 weeks increased
the phagocytic activity of the reticuloendothe-
lial system. Studies on human subjects showed
that it had moderate diuretic action; it
increased the urine output and chloride
excretion. It could enhance the metabolism and
improve systemic nutritional state. The ethanol
extract enhanced the contractility and increased
the contraction amplitude of the isolated frog
or toad heart, while large doses produced
cardiac depression. It also showed to have the
action of protecting the liver and preventing
the loss of hepatic glycogen in mice with acute
toxic hepatitis. It also showed antibacterial
effect and certain sedative effect. The LD50 in
mice was 39.82g/kg or 40g/kg IP.

The drug is used as
tonic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory agent; for
the treatment of weakness, asthenia,spontaneous
sweating and night sweating, edema, chronic
nephritis, chronic diarrhea, hematochezia and
abnormal uterine bleeding.
