The drug contains asparagic acid,
glutamic acid, arginine, aminobutyric acid,
choline, ¦Â-sitosterol, homogentisic acid, 1-
ephedrine, etc..

| Pharmacology Actions: |
The decoctions of the
untreated tuber, ginger-cooked tuber, ginger-
soaked tuber and the alunite-treated tuber pro-
duced a significant antitussive action and
inhibited salivary secretion. The stir-fried
tuber or the tuber stir-fried with alunite and
ginger juice had an antiemetic action on vomi-
ting induced by digitalis etc, while the flui-
d extract of the untreated tuber or the low-
temperature-treated tuber exhibited an emetic
action.

| Actions and Indications: |
The drug is used as
diuretic, expectorant, antiemetic; for the
treatment of cough and asthma with much phlegm,
dizziness, nausea and vomiting, stuffiness in
the chest and the epigastrium, the crude drug
is used externally for boils and sores.
