The tuber contains asparagine, ¦Â-sitosterol,
5-methoxy-methylfural, glucose, steroidal saponins.

| Pharmacology Actions: |
1. The pharmacological tests proved that sparagine exerted antitussive effect and expectorant effect.
2. In vitro, the decoction exhibited different
extent inhibitory action against Bacillus anthracis, A and B type hemolytic Streptococcus,Corynebacterium diphtheriae,Hemophilus pertusis,
Diplococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus lamon,Streptococcus albus, Baillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
3. The herb showed inhibitory action against dehydrogenase of leukemia patient in vitro, and could prohibit respiratory of leukocyte for acute
lymphocytic cell.
